Life’s Choices

“With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.”

― the late Wayne Dyer, author & motivational coach.

Dealing With Money Problem$

One of the most common problem that my clients (from my reiki healing practice) have is a weak base chakra (energy center/portal) due to lack of money or income. The base chakra is about physical survival and since money represents our purchasing power for our daily goods including food, therefore it makes sense that this chakra is weakened whenever people have grave concerns about making money.

Over the years, I have listened to many spiritual sources about people’s inability to manifest money and its reasons. Several of the common reasons are listed below:

1)Mentality of Scarcity

Apparently when humans have great fear or apprehension in spending money, so as not to deplete their limited savings, they are operating in the mentality of scarcity. It was explained that such thoughts send out a vibration of lack and the Universe then matches these people with similar circumstances (by the Law of Attraction), so that they will continue to encounter problems manifesting money. This is similar to the saying “What we resist, persists.”

(Note: There are many workshops on ways to attract abundance that include making affirmations such as “Money comes to me easily”. However this technique would not yield positive results if the person doesn’t really think what he verbally affirmed, is possible.)

2)Lack of Appreciation

Another reason is said to be peoples’ lack of appreciation for money. This seems to be the case of people who have the habit of buying and discarding things frequently, even though these are still fairly new and usable. Because they don’t cherish the value of money, the Universal forces come into play again to deplete their sources of income. Apparently another example of this category is the case of the average Joe who wins the lottery but then loses all of the winnings within a short period of time. As such, there is a need to cultivate a sense of gratitude in our relationship with money.

3)Belief System

People hold many beliefs that can jeopardise their success in life. A classic example would be the belief that…. “Money is the root of all evil.” If this belief is rooted deeply in the subconscious mind, then the said person would literally repel opportunities that may bring him monetary gains.

4)Soul Contract/Life Lesson

There are cases of people who may end up being extremely poor, to the extent of losing their job/savings and ending up living on the streets. A proportion of these cases could be attributed to what their souls had chosen to experience in this present life. This is not necessarily about repaying karmic debt , as the soul could have experienced a past life as a very wealthy person but opted for a contrasting life in the present one to gain experience and first hand insights for their soul growth. Indeed if we as a soul chooses the same scenarios in every lifetime, then we would not learn anything new.

However, with one of my clients, her present poverty issue was actually due to past karmic implications, as Archangel Michael told me that this lady cheated people of their hard earned savings during her past incarnation. In this life, the lady is facing great difficulty earning money to repay a huge debt for which she stood as a guarantor. The original debtor defaulted despite assurances given to this lady earlier that the person had the ability to repay.

5)Divine Intervention

Sometimes, the inability to earn more money could be due to divine intervention because in such cases, money has become an unnecessary distraction in a person’s life purpose. For example, such a person may have developed an obsession with money-making that has caused this person to deviate from achieving his goal in life. To negate that, divine forces may orchestrate events to deprive the person from amassing too much money, by leading the party to one financial block after another.

(Note: I have a personal case of a man who is now diagnosed with depression and is under medication. Archangel Michael explained to me that his depression arose from his reluctance to go into a different career, which was actually his intended life’s mission. This was because his present job paid well and he was reluctant to resign.)

———————

The above list is not exhaustive as sometimes our inability to make more money could simply because we lack financial management skills/certain talents. Nevertheless, the list does offer an expanded view of how diverse money issues can be.

Last but least, apart from pondering the ways to manifest more money, I also believe that it is imperative for us to ask ourselves yet another related question – “Why do we need more money?” By answering this question honestly, we might get to discover and resolve a more pertinent problem at hand.

For example, I have read the case of a recent graduate who just got a job but he put a great dent on his wallet by buying a relatively expensive car. His motive was to fit in with his rich colleagues who were driving upmarket cars. In such a case, the root cause was his lack of self-confidence and self-worth. If this person truly valued himself more than trying to fit in the crowd, he wouldn’t have ended up in his present financial woe. Thus it would have been better if he looked into areas on how to build his self-esteem rather than stressing over the need to earn extra money to repay his car loan.

Angelic Answers On Relationship

In the darkest of time, Jessica caught a glimpse of a light being, seemingly approaching her.

J(Jessica): Who or what are you?

AM : I have been assigned many names as I play many roles. But commonly, I have been addressed as Archangel Michael.

J: You mean THE Archangel Michael from the heavenly realms?

AM : (Smiles) Yes, and you are from there too.

J: Are you implying that I am an angel too?

AM : No, but your soul came from the same Source. And I am your guide.

J: Really? But I have never prayed to you. To be honest, I am not even sure angels exist.

AM: Dear one, I have seen you crying and asking for answers lately. You have been deeply hurt in a relationship, yes?

J: (Sobs) I just recently broke up with my boyfriend. It really hurts . I don’t know how I can move on in life anymore. We used to do everything together…but now…I am back to once I was before…alone. All I ever wanted was someone to share my life with.

AM: The longing for love and companion is most understandable. Humans have left the astral plane to be in this dense, physical world. On the Other Side, Love is ever prevalent but it isn’t felt here at all times and so …you miss Home dearly.

J: Why do we do this? Why would we even consider the notion of leaving a better place, if what you say is true? Are we paying for our sins or something like that?

AM: What you humans do is most honourable. You seek growth and you yearn to expand your consciousness. And you know that if you choose to remain in your non-physical form as a soul, you would not have the opportunity to learn from the many lessons a human incarnation offers.

J: Well, what lessons am I supposed to learn?! Surely it can’t be about losing someone I used to love?

AM: You chose a great challenge to understand the deeper meaning of Love and Acceptance. Before you broke up, you had many heated arguments, yes?

J: Yes, we did…and sometimes over trivial issues. (Sighs) Looking back, I don’t even know why we had to go through that… but please elaborate on what you just mentioned.

AM: As you succinctly admitted, you argued even over trivial matters in your relationship. This gives you a clue to the cause of your breakup. If you truly loved him for who he is, those arguments could have been avoided. You felt hurt, because he didn’t meet your expectations, yes?

J: Well…sort of..but isn’t my boyfriend supposed to accommodate me and respect my opinions? I gave him so much.. is it wrong to expect something from him?

AM: When I spoke of Love, I am referring to the Unconditional Love that places no demands on the other. In other words, the other party isn’t made to feel compelled to reciprocate. On Earth, you had a benevolent soul called Mother Teresa. Did she ask for anything in return when she helped all those people in her lifetime? Obviously the answer is “No” for her actions were rooted in Love and compassion.

J : Well does that mean it gives my ex the right to behave selfishly like he did?

AM: Dear One, I am not implying that he has no lessons to learn. But just because he too failed to understand the meaning of Unconditional Love, it doesn’t mean that you should also give up on him. That is what acceptance is all about.

J: Are you saying that I need to compromise and get back to him?

AM: That would be entirely left to your choosing, for I merely play the role as a guide. It is not my function to dictate human actions as I only provide insights, which you sought in your silent moments of grief. To explain further, you and your boyfriend set this intended relationship prior to your birth so that both could learn this common lesson. Nevertheless, the outcome of this plan, which certain people describe as ‘soul contract’ is subject to the effort of the parties involved.

J: Does this mean that we both failed in this lesson?

AM: It could have worked out better but from our perspective , nothing is ever a total failure for the experiences that you had did teach you something. All experiences are honoured and treasured.

J: I really don’t understand why there has to be so much suffering in life. My parents divorced when I was just a child. I felt so abandoned then. Now I am reliving that loss again. Is it really true about how Buddha taught that life is about suffering?

AM: Just to be clear, Buddha was one of those wise souls who came to enlighten the human race but he never preached that life has to be about suffering. Instead, he taught people ways to liberate themselves IF they were suffering. He advocated the need to control the mind and the practice of detachment. Thus, if you had detached any expectation from your ex, you most likely would not have ‘suffered’ as severely as you did.

J: That’s easier said than done…

AM: And why do you think we angels honour you human souls? You are all courageous souls who are willing to endure separation to experience such intense tests. Give yourself a pat on your back, dear one and don’t be too harsh on yourself.

J : I will try… but since we are on the topic of Buddha’s teaching, is reincarnation real? Do we have past lives?

AM: In human linear thinking, the answer would be “Yes”. However, from our standpoint time is not similar to yours as past, present and future co-exist simultaneously. Why do you ask?

J : Well, it’s because a friend of mine hinted that my bad luck in relationships could be due to karmic issues. I don’t know what to make of it as I am more of an atheist.

AM: Since you brought up the subject, there is an unresolved issue that is running through the theme of your previous and present life i.e. abandonment. In your past life, you deserted your family to seek for other self-fulfilling reasons, which I shall not elaborate. Suffice to say, your present parent’s divorce gave you the opportunity to reflect upon what you have once inflicted upon others. Hence, many of your spiritual teachers have surmised that life is fair and just. From our perspective, we concur …as there are really no victims in life but just students sitting for very challenging tests.

J: Wow, that’s so profound and so much to take in. But what if this conversation that we are having isn’t real?

AM: Well, if you have found some consolation and clarity with these answers, would it really matter?

J : Hmm…I guess not…I do feel more peaceful now.

AM : Then this conversation would have served its purpose.. be it your imagination or otherwise.

? L-O-V-E ?

If we only have hate, then we don’t really understand Love.

If differences cause us to be irate, then we don’t know Tolerance.

If we only resort to violence, then we don’t comprehend Peace.

If we don’t practice what we preach, then we don’t cognize Integrity.

Lacking in awareness causes humanity to fall from grace. And the crucial step is to awaken the Human Race. By remembering the truths of Life that what we do others, the same will be done unto ourselves. When we honor, respect, love and treat others with dignity and integrity , their consciousness will match ours.

An awakened race is one that understands that we are ALL connected. When we behave as a family of One, seeing each other as brothers and sisters, separation cannot exist.

One heart, One voice, One ultimate Truth…That Love has no boundaries for Love heals…Love unites.

So before we criticise, condemn or hurt others, we need to ask ourselves…

“How Big is my Love for All?”

(Note: The above writing is inspired by the smash group, Black Eyed Peas’ latest song called Big Love, which tackles the issue of the prevalent gun violence upon school children.)

Reflection Of Life

When winds don’t blow, and plants don’t grow..

When faith seems low, all we need to know..

Is that Life still flows, in the heart of our soul.

When it feels like the end by tomorrow,

We need to search for the Light…behind the shadows.

Sometimes, life just falls short-that we ought to know.

‘Cause before we came, we swore to conquer..

And to overcome all forms of sorrow.

So, there’s no need to beg, steal or borrow.

To Live … is to experience the highs and the lows.

We thrive for this feeling…

And it’s from there we grow.

Like how the lake below, reflects the sky’s beautiful glow.

True Living
