The Wayshower – Master Lao Tsu

“He who conquers others is strong; he who conquers himself is mighty.”

The above is one of the many quotes by the Ascended Master, Lao Tsu often credited for the teachings of Taoism. Ascended Masters are designations afforded to previously incarnated humans who have evolved to a higher level of consciousness and are very wise souls. Earth is considered a planet of great challenges because it’s enveloped by a ‘veil of forgetfulness’ that causes humans to forget who they really are. As such, the soul within the physical body has to go through a difficult journey of self-realisation and self-mastery – to remember the divinity within and reach one’s highest potential through mastery of one’s thoughts, words and deeds.

The hatred, disharmony and acts of violence we see in our daily lives are some of the effects of us not remembering our divine nature, in which the ego reigns supreme while the internal divinity takes a back seat. However, the severity of this test/experiment on Earth is recognised by Source and as such, every soul that incarnates has a team of spirit guides, to support him/her. Sadly, majority of humans don’t seem to be aware of them. It’s for this reason, I often ask Archangel Michael on behalf of the clients (of my healing therapy work), for the names of their dominant guides. In a few of these cases, the name Lao Tsu, would crop up. When I ask Archangel Michael about the role of Lao Tsu, that angelic being would often reply : “As a teacher who imparts wisdom…to show the way of life.”

Reading Lao Tsu’s aforementioned quote, I sense he was implying that a mighty human is one who is able to conquer his/her own ego. It may take a lot of strength to attack others, but it requires an even greater effort for us to acknowledge our weaknesses (such as pride, jealousy, insecurity, lack of self-worth, indecisiveness, etc.) and to deal with them. Hence, I opine that true success in the external material world hinges upon the battle within.
