Greed vs Generosity

“With greed comes animosity, ignorance, pride, thoughts of self-benefit and discontent.

With generosity comes loving-kindness, wisdom, humility, thoughts of all others and great joy!”

– Anna Lifson.

Self -Worth Issues

I believe that one of the greatest challenges that humanity faces is lack of self-worth. It is so prevalent that I can observe this in the way people keep checking their social media accounts to see how many ‘likes’ they have gotten for their postings e.g. Facebook & YouTube. It’s as though their importance or worthiness hinges upon how many people admire, approve or agree with what they have posted. If one truly loves and appreciate oneself, the need for such external approval or admiration will surely subside. The continuous dependency for such acknowledgment of self from others becomes a ‘drug’ that hooks such media users into a constant loop of posting and checking.

When a person truly has a good sense of self-worth and confidence, then it matters not whether the person has zero or a billion ‘likes’. What I have learnt from people who channel divine messages from the Other Side, is that the technology of social media was created for the purpose of helping humanity unite by bridging people living in different locale and those with different background. It was also created as a tool to share and disseminate information. For a very long time the mass media , owned by rich and power crazy moguls , was feeding public news that have been skewed according to the wishes of their owners. In that sense, the masses were led to believe something that doesn’t truly reflect real life situations. But with the emergence of the Internet, news could not be controlled or manipulated so easily anymore. It allowed people to by-pass traditional media to seek alternative views or answers.

Sadly, such technology is now becoming a doubled-edged sword, as many users succumb to the allure of instant Internet fame or recognition. The more ‘likes’ they obtain, the more their ego has a hold on their psyche. Humans have truly forgotten that Earth is a planet of learning. In my opinion, it’s imperative for us to remember to stay balanced and not to let physicality entrap us. Regardless of the circumstances in the outer world, our inner world ought to be peaceful, loving and appreciative of Self. Perhaps, the following affirmation may help those whose inner world is lacking in positive vibes.

“I acknowledge the beauty and benevolence within.

I forgive myself for all my previous mistakes in life, as I realise it’s just part of my journey of living and learning.

I now let go of any guilt or shame that may still be affecting my self-worth.

I reclaim the confidence within to allow my authenticity to shine.

In doing so, I release the need to seek recognition from others as I deem myself worthy and deserving.

Embracing this, I am finally at peace with myself.

I truly love and appreciate myself … for who I AM.

It is done.

And so it is.”
