Can We Heal Ourselves?

Apparently the answer to the aforementioned question is in the affirmative. However, conventional science does not focus much on beliefs. In fact, most people have accepted past revelation that the fate of our health is sealed by our genes. And so, the following thought is imprinted within most of us.

“There’s nothing we can do – it’s genetics.”

However, as research goes on, new information surfaces every now and then, which debunks previous conclusions. One fine example lies in the field of epigenetic. Dr. Bruce Lipton, biologist, former medical professor and author of the award winning science book “The Biology Of Belief” holds a different view when it comes to the perception surrounding DNAs and genes. He was once reported as saying :

” The current science is called genetic control, which simply means control by genes. The new science, that I got involved with more than 40 years ago and is now becoming mainstream, is called epigenetic control. This little prefix epi turns the world upside down. Epi means above. So, epigenetic means control above the genes. We now know that we influence the activity of our genes by our actions, perceptions, beliefs and attitudes. In fact, epigenetic information can take a single gene blueprint and modify the readout of the gene to create more than 30,000 different proteins from the same blueprint. Basically, it says that the genes are plastic and variable and adjust to the environment.”

The above view best explains how the ‘placebo effect’ works. In the field of metaphysics, Mr. Lee Carroll has written many books which touch on our DNAs based on information he received from the Other Side. It has been emphasized that human consciousness and people’s intent activate our dormant DNAs to perform ‘health miracles’ at sub-atomic levels. As such, our positive view/belief/attitude in life can indeed lead to cases of spontaneous remission. On the other hand, fear and worry are great stumbling blocks to our healing. As such, it is good to be mindful of what we think and believe.

(Note: This post was written not to belittle conventional science but instead to act as a reminder that all of us possess great powers within.)

No doubt about it, self-healing works very well. Keeping a mind picture of when one was young and very fit, does wonders for general health. We need to remind ourselves regularly of who we were, are, will be, and take tours through our bodies for encouragement. Good log. Kristin.

Thanks for the comment, Kristin! I love your suggestion of visualization self as being fit. That act really does activate our DNAs! As you probably know, DNAs store information, including health information. When we focus our thoughts on a healthy body, such information will be used as the blueprint for creating healthy cells. Have a lovely day! πŸ™‚

Absolutely right! Our beliefs and feelings play such an important role in our healing. And we can activate our dormant DNA. Evlyn.

I absolutely believe that we are active participants in our healings. I was in pain the recently, but I knew that I did not have to be. I knew that I was holding some junk in my body and that if I put myself in another vibe the pain would go away. So I prayed and released it in faith that everything that i encountered after the prayer would ultimately be the path God scripted for my healing per my belief. A couple days later I was going to have to assist some kids in rock climbing so the pain was inconvenient. Well when the day came I was fine.

When you read most of the accounts of Jesus’ healing in the Bible, he never says, “Hey look what I did.” Rather he says, “Your faith has made you whole” or something to that affect. He also asked, “Do you BELIEVE that I can do this?” As you can see, the primary factor in the healing is the person’s belief or faith. I think Jesus came to teach us what we all can do. That’s why in one instance he was even annoyed with his disciples for not being able to assist in a boy’s healing (Matt 17:14-21). He also taught that his followers could do greater things than he did if we could just believe (John 14:12). So I can totally get down with the science you are talking about. In fact, I was talking to God (HaShem) about something similar this morning in my prayers.

I am often stunned by why we live as we often do in this world (to include myself when I slip into forgetfulness) when for at least thousands of years that we know of people have been telling us that the world is not as we see it. Why do we keep limiting our experience and why do we project those limits onto others? What are we afraid of? Clearly you are asking similar questions and not limiting your resources. Obviously I have the Christian vibe, but I don’t think I can limit God to my understanding of a religion while simultaneously I believe that God is fully present within religions if God is what people are looking for. It’s the macro in the micro type of thing–holographic style.

Thanks for asking the questions about whether we can heal ourselves and sharing the science. I think it is important to ask. I hope you don’t mind the long response.

Firstly, I welcome your post- so I absolutely do not mind your long post.Your comment is a great validation that we can affect our health( amongst other things) by our own action and belief.

Because we are truly part of the Divine Source, we are more powerful than we can imagine. Like you said, most of us have just forgotten. So, the idea is to start remembering. Ha…ha.. that’s actually the main purpose of the blog and my e-book of the same title. Once again, thanks for your valuable sharing!

Dr Bruce Lipton is one of my favorite authors. It’s great how he bridges science with spirituality. I’ve witnessed some amazing healing miracles through the power of changing our beliefs.

There is no greater healing power than the power within . That channeling, combined with faith, I believe can set about a powerful change within us in the way we feel and respond to pain, discomfort, fatigue, negativity, and the like. Great post!

Sounds too good to be true. Can you believe your way out of a chronic ailment? I don’t think so.

Well, I don’t profess to know everything. But there have been real life cases of people healing themselves from even cancer, when they shifted their consciousness. Of course, the healing process took time- not necessarily immediately .

Indeed, there is for example such a thing as placebo, but we cannot rely on it alone. And no matter what, no one can heal themselves of Type I Diabetes. Not that I heard of anyway.

Self healing is very possible, but in essence it is probably one of the hardest things to do. Doubt and negative thoughts can easily take over. Those who are strong can heal themselves by staying positive, and feeling good about where they are at in life even in times when medicine says otherwise. Our mind is powerful and using it correctly leads to limitless possibilities.
